Short film based on Afanasy Fet’s “Like mayflies at dawn…”
This film, based on Afanasy Fet’s poem, was a finalist in the Cinematic Poetry competition as part of the ArtOkno festival, where our team was featured as part of the selection committee as well as curators and creative producers of this project.
Arseny Robak, an actor at Moscow’s Pushkin Drama Theater, is featured as the actor and voice in this project.
We used the artistic language of shadows and reflections as our key image, shifting audiences’ attention from the objects and shapes that created them. This is a chance for audiences to reflect on the idea of a soul’s wordless self-expression, all while communicating the presence of something incomprehensible, intangible and not fully expressed in the air: something so great that it cannot be seen.
